Consumer confidence in March is now at a 13 year high.

GfK’s index rose three points to a score of plus four in March.

The major purchase index was the biggest riser – up five points – indicating consumers are more willing to make major purchases than they were five years ago.

Footfall across UK stores is expected to rise by 4.7% over the Easter weekend.

Springboard, the retail analysts, predict high streets will enjoy a 6% year-on-year surge in visitor numbers over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
